Lawnmower + Lowes + Get Comfortable!!!!

We had quite the weekend!!! It is hard to believe that we ate our last Sunday Brunch in the one bathroom wonder yesterday, but I am really looking forward to having brunch on the "pool deck" at the new digs :)

Our weekend started with Steven making a big purchase.....a riding lawnmower!!! When your new front yard is almost two acres, the push mower you bought last year doesn't quite cut it! (pun intended) He says his favorite part about this mower is that it has a cup-holder, haha! He also says that once it gets warmer we will have "lawnmower 1101" in case I never need to cut the grass. Cough, Cough we'll see.
Friday ended with a beer on our back patio, Cornflake chasing bugs in the yard and pork tenderloin on the grill. It was just the right kind of evening because I met my mom the next morning at 8:30 to head to Atlanta to go fixture shopping.

Apparently plumbing from the 80's and pluming today are not the same thing......did you know that the government stopped allowing manufacturers to make double handled water knobs? Now all knobs have to be turn style, you can no longer buy hot on the left, cold on the right knobs for showers. So, trying to find new fixtures for that is like trying to find a needle in a damn haystack!!!! However, this search lead us to a beautiful showroom right outside of Atlanta and I died and went to bathtub heaven!

If we ever build a home...I'll have a bathtub like this!!!

After we left the plumbing/lighting showroom, we headed to Lowes, where we stayed for almost three hours. And those were an intense three hours!!!! Faucets, knobs, ceiling fans, vanity lighting, you name it, we bought it. I never thought I would get nauseous trying to pick out hallway lighting, but I did. Everything looks like a boob!!! Bahaha!

I don't like this kind of flush mount, and currently there are three lights like this in our hall way, downstairs garage entry and in our game/media room. We finally called the Lowes trip, once we had filled up two shopping carts and we came to the conclusion that they need to have adult beverage vending machines. Before we left, we did check out the patio furniture section and I fell in love with their selection! This makes me really, really excited to pick out a new set for our house!!! And look at all the fabulous pillows!! I mean how does one pick?!?!

I got home with just enough time for a quick shower and to toss our overnight items in a bag so that we could check into Hotel Indigo for our Valentines date night! Several weeks ago, I bought Steven and I tickets to a fundraiser for Get Comfortable at LRG Provisions. The fundraiser was a four course dinner and Creature Comforts beer pairing.

Our favorite course was the soup course!!! Y'all, there are no words to describe how DELICIOUS the soup was!!! It was paired with Reclaimed Rye and I must say that this was the best tasting pairing, meaning the soup really brought out the flavors in the beer. The Brittomatic that was served with the salad course is an IPA that is held in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels for six months before its bottled, this was my favorite!!

After dinner we headed downtown, we enjoyed a few rounds of Jenga at Highwire, then we headed to Allgood (our favorite) where we ended the night.

The flooring installation began at our new house today, so yesterday afternoon we met my mom out there and cleaned things up. Everything had to be removed from the floors, we still had some outlets and switches to change out and the garage looked like a bomb went off in it! By the time I went to the grocery store afterward, my back was hurting from all of the lifting!

The move is feeling very surreal to me right now. For so long we have looked at nothing but bare floors and a halfway painted to kitchen....so with those two items getting finished this week its getting VERY real. Cornflake is feeling it too! She is very distraught over all of the boxes in the office and she let us know that it was interfering with her food bowl and litter box placement haha!! If she could talk, she would have told us to move that sh*t out of her way!

I would love to tell y'all that fresh posts are coming this week, but that's highly unlikely! I have manged to plan our our dinners so that I will know exactly what I can leave and what I can pack in the kitchen. It's time to start taking down curtains and filling containers y'all! Wish us luck :)

  1. Even though it's scary to see the date coming closer, it's also super exiting to know that very soon you will have your new place all setup :)

  2. Girl, you look good in that dress! And I want that bathtub. and I learned all about the knob thing since my rent house still has that kind of knob in the second bath and I was not about to pay to change it out. Sorry, not sorry I have already spent too much on this house.

  3. You made some decent points there. I looked on the internet for the issue and found most individuals will go along with with your website.
