A few updates!!

I mentioned on Monday and Tuesday that Steven has been sick, well he finally went back to work today!!!! Since we've been together, he has had colds/felt crummy, but nothing like this. Not going to lie, I am excited to get my husband back :) If he hadn't gone back to work today, I would have drug him kicking and screaming to the doctor. Can anyone offer insight as to why men hate the doctor?!?!

Moving on....

The painters started at the house this week! Y'all, white paint, is such a game changer. When I walked in yesterday everything felt instantly updated! As these photos do show....

Look at the difference in the a paint colors! Seeing the worldly gray up against the white makes me even more confident that we chose the right paint color. For a contrast, we are thinking about painting the kitchen urbane bronze!! It is the darkest color on the paint strip, so with white glazed cabinets and a neutral counter-top, I think it will look tres chic!

After further discussion we have decided to remove the pickets that are in the "windows" between the dining and living room. That particular wall is load bearing, and back in the 80's when my parents had this house remodeled, you didn't do posts like you would see now for an open concept. I think that doing this will give the house an even more updated feel.

On Tuesday night I hit up our local TJ Maxx Homegoods and I fell in LOVE with a tv console! I fell in love so hard, I was figuring out if I could get it in the back of Steven's tahoe because I was driving it. The only downfall to this console, it was $100 less than an entire week's paycheck....WOOF. Let's be real here friends, Steven and I are not made of money and we are "ballers on a budget" nine times out of ten. Spending almost my entire paycheck on a tv console is just not smart. The single me wouldn't have thought twice about it, I loved to spend money, but Steven has brought out some conservative spending habits in me.

Yesterday my mom was out and about and she ran into our local Habitat for Humanity Re-store, enter our "new" $40 tv console! As it sits, it is not nearly as glamorous as the console at TJ's, but by the time my uncle gets done with it....it will probably look even better! We're going to have it painted off white/creme with a gray/brown glaze over it, oil rubbed knobs and a glass shelf in the center! So when it is all said and done, we'll have a $150 console, and we'll be better off for it!

I still don't have a "house" hashtag! Any recommendations? Our current hastag is #clubcaudellcircle because our address as circle in it, but I don't know what to change it too! #casacaudell maybe??
