Thursday Tidbits

Hello Hello! One day til the weekend! Can I get a whoooohhoooooo? The Mister's sister and husband and my best friend are coming into town for the weekend! I am looking forward to entertaining one last time at my house in Athens. It will be on the bittersweet side, but fun nonetheless! :)

For tailgating on Saturday morning I plan on making breakfast casserole with a side of potatoes. There are many many variations of breakfast casserole but here is the recipe for mine:

- 1 can crescent rolls
- 1lb mild or hot sausage (cooked)
- 6-7 eggs
- 2 cups shredded cheese - you can use whatever you prefer, I like sharp cheddar.
- Salt and Pepper

Preheat oven to 350
Using a 9x13 pyrex dish, spray with cooking spray and roll out crescents in the pan.
Make sure to spread crescents up the sides of the dish and "mush" together any perforations in the dough.
Next evenly spread cooked sausage over dough
Repeat for cheese
Scramble eggs with salt and pepper in a separate bowl
Pour eggs evenly over mixture
Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until eggs on top are firm
Let cool for 10 minutes, cut and serve!

I love this recipe because it is something that can be made ahead of time. I plan to "prep" the casserole on Friday, then bake Saturday morning! Another great thing about this recipe is that you can give it a Southwest feel by adding green peppers and onions into your sausage and using a Mexican cheese blend. I recommend serving Southwest style with a side of salsa!

Luckily the weather is going to have hit a warming trend by the weekend and it won't be too terribly cold. Granted, 44-51 degrees is still cold but it is much better than the 30 degree weather Georgia has had this week!

Does anyone have a tried and true hot Apple Cider Champagne cocktail recipe? I have several pinned on Pinterest, but they are all served cold. What do you think about piping hot bourbon+apple cider with a splash of champagne to chill it to a drinkable temperature? I would like to serve this, but would also like to know if anyone has tried it haha! Let me know!

Tonight I have my first Christmas party and I cannot wait! 'Tis the season to be jolly!
