Friday 5!

Fri-day! I am so happy to see you! Let's break down the Friday Five!

Steven, Cornflake and I (along with my parents) are headed to the lake this weekend to celebrate the 4th! My mom and I love to plan a good menu, BBQ chicken and hot dogs are whats on deck, so I decided to plan the desserts! Below you'll find my Aunt Margaret's famous Peach Cobbler and a recipe from Washington Farms for strawberry ice cream!

 1) Aunt Marg's Peach Cobbler
1 stick of butter
1 cup of flower
1 cup of sugar
3/4 cup of milk
3/4 lb sliced peaches
1/4 tsp. of cinnamon - for topping
1 tbsp. of sugar - for topping
Melt butter. Mix remaining ingredients with butter and pour over peaches in 9x13 baking dish.
Sprinkle cinnamon and sugar topping over mixture and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
The crust will "rise" to the top and remove once golden brown. I highly highly highly recommend serving this with a side of vanilla ice cream, it'll cut the sweet! Haha

2) Washington Farms Strawberry Ice Cream

4 large eggs
½ tsp. salt
6 cups milk
2 cups sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla extract
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 pint strawberries (sweetened)
Combine eggs and salt; beat until light
Add condensed milk, sugar, and vanilla; Mix well
Pour mixture into ice cream churn
Add milk
Churn until almost set
Add strawberries and continue to churn until ready
Makes 12 servings

3)  Steven's Desk!!!
I bought this desk for a whopping $35 at our local thrift store back in February. I thought that it was real wood and got super excited about "a deal". Turns out, its not real wood. After having found this out, we didn't think we were going to be able to get it painted, but my uncles who own the cabinet shop here in town, worked their magic and here she is in all her glory! You can find me here in the evenings now studying real estate!

4) The Chairs!
I mentioned yesterday that my Aunt was giving us some chairs, well here they are!!!! They look SO MUCH better than the black chairs! Now all we need are some curtains and artwork and we'll be in business! Here is another angle of our living room...

5) Birthdays Get Celebrated All Week!

Last night we went to Last Resort with my parents to celebrate Steven! I had my all time favorite - Struggleville Pasta! Top that off with a dirty martini...perfection! We had a great time with my parents! As we were getting ready for the check, I scrolled FB right quick and turns out that three of our friends were down the street at Shokitini singing karaoke, so we went to join them! There was a little Dolly Parton, America, Michael Jackson and a whole lot of laughing! My parents enjoyed it so much, they're thinking about renting one of the rooms and having a karaoke party with some of their friends - hilarious!!!

Its 3:45 here and I am watching that clock til it's 5! I hope that everyone has a fun, fabulous and safe 4th of July!
