There are so many details and decisions that were made right off the bat, like the caterer, photographer, cake etc etc, it was nice to get to sample that "decision"!
We knew that we wanted to serve a meal to our guests. We also knew that we wanted a cocktail hour before the reception kicked off. I knew that we had a budget to stick to....but my mom had other ideas haha!
Original Menu:
Appetizer station
Cubed cheese display, buffalo chicken dip and southern dips with homemade potato chips and veggies.
Dinner buffet
Bistro steak, cut to order
Pecan crusted chicken with bourbon mustard sauce
Bourbon glazed sweet potatoes OR sweet potato souffle with pecan crumble
Corn pudding souffle with red pepper sauce OR Chipotle cheddar potatoes
Garden vegetable medley with shallot butter
Y'all.....we got to try every bit of this. All the cheeses, dips and sides! We had to take some to-go!
After beating the timeline to death, (and Daddy and Steven ready to leave ) we finally decided on this.
New menu:
Passed hors d'ourves of bacon wrapped jalapenos and brie-pecan and pear bruschetta
Plated at the table - Indie’s Balsamic Salad with Spring Mix, Pear or Strawberry, Blue Cheese & Spiced Pecans
Beef tenderloin, cut to order
pecan crusted chicken
grilled and roasted vegetables - squash, asparagus, zuchinni, broccoli
chipotle mashed potatoes
sweet potato souffle with pecans
Would you eat any of that?!?! What did you serve at your wedding? What as the best/worst wedding food you've ever eaten? Tell me about it!
