A little 'current' update from The Caudells :)

Reading -CJ Box, Joe Pickett series. Never did I think that I would be so caught up in a book series about a Wyoming Game Warden....but yall I am!!! This author is so very good at descriptions and in my mind I am envisioning Wyoming and the open fields and the mountain areas while I am reading the stories. I have read three of the books so far and are starting the 4th this weekend!

Buying -These pumps at Target for a whopping $12.01 yesterday! Score!

Praying - 1) For some transactions either buyers or sellers! 2) There is an opening in Steven's office and he applied for it. I think this would be SO WONDERFUL for him if he received this promotion! 

Listening - The Back Seat of Your Rover Song, which is apparently called Closer and now I will be singing it for the rest of the day bc its ridiculous and stupid and incredibly catchy. You're singing it too now? You're welcome.

Watching - Nothing other than Grey's Anatomy.

Devouring - Pumpkin spice oatmeal and the Espresso Chocolate coffee creamer! It makes my coffee taste like something from Starbucks! I'm holding out until 11/1 for Peppermint Mocha, then its on until the grocery store stops selling it in January haha!

Loving - The fact that I will get to see my husband tomorrow!!! I am beginning to think that I've got full on separation anxiety when he travels for work.

Hating - The 5 hour drive that is ahead of me from Athens to St. Simons. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though, THE DAIRYLANE!

Wanting - A million dollars. New Louis. Wake up tomorrow and magically be 10 pounds lighter. Bahaha.

Wishing -For a DAWGS victory in Jax this weekend!

Feeling - Excited! Happy! 

Anticipating - Our incredibly busy November! Tara + Josh's family shower, the Auburn game, our 1 year anniversary!, Tara+Josh's Nash Bach Weekend AND Thanksgiving! Whew!

Weekend Rewind!

First Update: I am move my jaw!!!! It still tastes like a hammer in my mouth and my ear is numb and I've got some weird neck pain, but I can move my jaw. PTL!

Friday evening I went to pick up our Georgia-Florida tickets from our friends Danny and Jessica! This will be Steven and I's first Ga/Fla together!! Not going to lie, I'm pretty excited! Afterward I headed home to freshen up, we had plans with some friends to go out in downtown Athens. Provided I could barely talk, I just wanted to get out of the house! We did dinner at Globe and drinks at Blue Sky. Blue Sky is somewhere that we never go and if Brandon hadn't suggested it, we wouldn't probably never gone, but they had a GREAT beer selection and it was nice to be in a bar with people that were more your age and not college students! One of the many pro/cons of living in a college town.

Saturday morning I got up early and headed out to meet my fellow Cancer Auxiliary members for our cheering station for the In Their Shoes Walk. The ITS walk is a fundraiser that put on by the is the Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation benefiting the Loran Smith Center for Cancer Support. The Piedmont Athens Regional Foundation is one of Cancer Auxiliary's beneficiaries so we always show our support by hosing a Pit Stop along the 13.1 mile walk!

I was feeling pretty crummy afterward so I headed home and retreated to the bed with Cornflake.

We had dinner plans with my parents that night, but luckily after a nice long nap I was feeling much better and the quivering in my jaw had almost completely subsided! We went to Mystic Grill in Covington. One of the things that I like about Mystic Grill is that they have a lounge area for people to wait in for their tables, they had a band playing - Chris Jon Scott -  and they were SO GOOD! We truly enjoyed listening to them!!

There was a live band on the square afterward so we walked over and listened to them for a while. For the first time all season, it finally felt like fall outside! However, we didn't last too long because my jaw started quivering, but this time from the cold!

Sunday morning we were up and at 'em again. We headed to Atlanta to go to brunch for Liz's birthday!! The way we go to Liz and Davids is through an older part of Atlanta, I could stare at the houses for hours. We went to Murphy's in the Highlands and it was delish! I'm still thinking about their fresh strawberry-lemon muffins! Mmmmm.

Earlier this month Liz went to Peru for a trip for school - she is in PA school - and pretty much the whole time she hung out with Llamas! They must be the "bumper crop" down there haha! I told her that Cornflake requested she bring her back a llama....

....and she did!!! This was Cornflake setting the llama straight as to who is the boss around these parts! HAHAHA!

We rounded out the weekend with a showing for me and a trip the gym for Steven. Laundry, laundry and a little more laundry followed by a James Bond movie was the end of our Sunday! Our weekend was great, and this week is going to (hopefully) fly by as I am anxious to get to SSI and cheer on my DAWGS! I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend too!

Uh, That's Weird...

There isn't much behind this post today, its more to see if I am the only person who has ever experienced this or if its normal.....

Yesterday around 11:30am, I noticed that my jaw was a little tight. I didn't think much of and continued my work. I have TMJ, but it does not give me any trouble, sure my jaw is a little tight in the mornings, but after a few yawns and cup of coffee I'm good.

I met with my mom and two of my aunts around 12:45 to plan a shower for my cousin. By 1:15 my lower jaw would not quit quivering and I was having some serious tightness and pain my jaw and I couldn't fully open my mouth. My mom said my jawline/cheeks looked a little swollen. I went home to lay down and tried to take a little nap before going back in to the office. My 2:45 I couldn't control the quivering and I called the dentist.

Come 3:15ish I'm having x-rays of my head to make sure that I'm not like dying or something. Ok, so not dying, but the right side of my tongue was numb and my lips and cheeks were tingling like I was coming off of a novocaine shot. The x-rays came back "beautifully" according to my dentist. My jaw is aligned properly, sinuses are clear, tendons look good....aka NOTHING WRONG.

The only conclusion is that I must have some swollen glands in my neck that are pressing on the Trigeminal nerve. 800mgs of motrin and ice were the prescription along with a visit to an oral surgeon on Tuesday.

This is my, what the hell is wrong with me face picture that I was sending to Steven while he was at the gym haha!

Today I have less pain, but the quivering is coming in waves. Sometimes I am fine, then sometimes its quivering so hard I'm afraid if I don't clinch my jaw shut I'll crack a tooth. And I sure has hell don't want to crack my crown, the ones in your mouth can break, unlike like those that go atop your head.

So if you need me, you'll find me drinking my wine through a straw this weekend and eating soup and mashed potatoes. I was really really hoping for a sushi date with Steven, but I don't think I can get a whole rainbow roll in my mouth. damnit.

Has anyone else ever had this problem?? Or am I the only one trying to get in the medical books ;)

Confessional Thursday!

- True life right now, my sinuses are wreaking such havoc on my head, it feels as if it could fall off. 

- Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, but I am kind of wanting to skip it and go straight to Christmas this year. And it's not even Halloween yet. #jinglebellrock 

- Cornflake took a little longer than usual jaunt in the woods last night. Like a five hour jaunt mind you. It was 11:30 and I was standing outside in my bathrobe yelling her name like a lunatic. She comes prancing out of the woods like nothing is wrong, and she rubs my leg and meows as she goes straight to her food bowl. In the evenings, she usually takes a little two hour break outside, but last night when she didn't come back I began to get worried. We've heard coyotes in our woods before, but I heard some last week so naturally I am freaked out. I began to feel heat rising in my neck up to my face and a tightening in my chest....over our cat y'all. If this is what it's like to be a parent, I will be on xanax for the rest of my life HAHAHA! It's a good thing she is cute.

- Steven and I did not do a very good job documenting our anniversary trip. So I'll leave you with these few photos until I can round up what is on his phone too and write a whole post!

Friday Four!

Hey Pretty People! Happy Friday! While I am SUPER excited about being Agent on Duty right this second, I am even more excited about getting out of here this afternoon and going home to pack for our 1 YEAR Anniversary trip!!!!!

1) Ok, Ok, so today is technically our 11 month anniversary, but next month we'll in Nashville on the weekend we would celebrate!

Y'all I have been married almost a year!! I can't get over it! There are days where I feel like Steven and I have been together for forever. Then there are days where our first day feels like just a few months ago. One thing is for sure, since we've gotten married Steven has grown a beard and he is never able to cut it again!!!!!!!!!! Ever. I love him with a beard! I wouldn't change anything about our wedding day, except his beard bahahaha! Y'all think I am joking ;) 

2) While we're on the subject of weddings...Hey, I know that girl! 

My bouquet and I were in a local wedding magazine! The Classic Wedding Magazine featured my bouquet in "the power of winter florals"!! #gonnabefamous

3) Taco Cat is Cornflakes long lost sister!!

4) In Monday's post I mentioned that we were having Italian Zucchini Boats one night for dinner. THIS was the recipe I was going to follow, but when I came time to make them, naturally I came up with my own recipe! 

 Ingredients + Directions 

2 large zucchini, cut in half, then cut in half again 

1LB ground turkey

1/2 block reduced fat cream cheese

1 cup mozarella 

1 cup spaghetti sauce 

salt + pepper + italian seasoning + red pepper flakes + garlic salt + balsamic vinegar 

preheat oven to 350*

bring water to a boil, drop in zucchini halves and boil for 2-3 minutes then remove

while this is going on, add spices to ground turkey and brown

mix turkey, sauce, spices and cream cheese together in a bowl

spray 9x13 pan 

layer each zuccini with turkey mixture, spaghetti sauce and top with cheese

bake for 20 minutes! 

VOILA! 

These are husband approved!!!!

Last week we received an invitation to a Halloween party hosted by one of my sorority sisters and her husband! The very last line said "prize for best costume" which immediately sent my brain into creative overdrive. And my creative overdrive I mean scrolling Pinterest haha!! The last time that I went to a Halloween party, I was Flo from Progressive, but that was before Steven so I would LOVE to do a couples costume for this party!

We spent some time scrolling the internet the other night and we narrowed it down to three potential costumes. So this is where you come in....We need YOUR help in deciding what we should be!

Weekend Rewind!

Hey There! Your favorite bi-weekly blogger is comin' in for a post :) 

This past weekend was just what I needed. We did not have any "set in stone" plans, I got my first Agent On Duty shift under my belt and I am ready to tackle this week head-on! 

Friday evening we "Netflix and Chilled". We've been watching Californication, so we watched a few episodes of that and then we grilled a pork tenderloin and I made THIS salad from Natalie Mason - Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers. I did roast the kale and I added in a few cranberries and almonds. It is the ULTIMATE fall side! This may or may not be what I bring to Thanksgiving this year! 

Saturday morning we got ready and we met our friends Josh and Amanda in downtown Monroe for a fall festival. There was a small farmers market, inflatables + touch a truck for kids, but the most exciting part is that there are two new stores that have opened downtown! 

Saltbox Lane and The Story Shop.

Saltbox Lane - website, Facebook - is a home decor and interiors store. Think Joanna Gaines comes to Monroe!! I told the owner that I was going to just move on it.... I scooped up these adorable coffee mugs and we enjoyed our Sunday morning coffee in them. 

Right next door to Saltbox is The Story Shop. - Facebook - I am pretty much OBSESSED with this place. Not only is it a childrens bookstore, but they have an Alice in Wonderland Themed event space...they also have a childrens reading nooks.....on the weekends they have hourly story readings AND they have a dress-up Wardrobe AKA The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. 

Monroe is my hometown and I am SO EXCITED about what is happening to our little downtown area! It is growing by leaps and bounds and it just makes my heart so proud!

After the festival we headed to Mystic Grill in Covington. They have rooftop dining, but much to our dismay, the rooftop isn't open for lunch. We sat inside at the bar so we could watch some football and enjoy eating our fried pickles and burgers at leisure. Do any of you watch Vampire Diaries? We have a little rodent problem going on at our house. And by rodent I mean Armadillos. They are tearing up our grass, rooting up plants and scattering our mulch from here to Florida. It's just not cool. Last night Steven set up some targets in the woods and we had shooting practice. Now don't go getting weird about this picture.....this gun is a BB gun with Steven's deer scope on it. It is not some kind of high powered rifle or anything like that. Anyone up for some Armadillo soup??

 
Our evening ended with tacos and watching the Alabama vs Arkansas game from the patio. The temperature was so pleasant and when you've got a TV as big as ours, you can see it from further away ;)

Sunday afternoon I had my first Agent On Duty shift. It was quiet in the office, it was just myself and the manager on duty, however I was able to watch the UGA vs USC game! I popped in the grocery store right quick and was able to make it home to see the last few minutes of the game! So happy that we brought home a W this week!

And speaking of the grocery store.... Here is what's on the menu this week:

We ended our Sunday night watching the Amanda Knox documentary on Netflix. I was shocked over the fact that she had only known her boyfriend for FIVE days when her roommate was murdered. I don't think that she did it, the media just massacred her and I hate that for her. I found THIS article and I also agree that these five things are the most shocking.

Whew! What a long post! Especially since the last post I drafted was like three sentences and a bunch of pictures of Cornflake haha! I hope that everyone had a great weekend like we did! Let's do this Monday!
